Homework for Week of May 29-June 2

Students should be choosing at least 2 afternoons during the week and one weekend day to do a whole session of xtramath.org with the Beat the Teacher section.  They can choose which nights they would like to go on and they can always do extra days.  It is very important for students to know their math facts.
Reminder:  Grandparents' Luncheon is June 5th at 12:50.

Students have all received their part for the play.  We will be practicing in school, but they should be practicing their lines and songs at home too.  Reminder:  Performance for school and parents is June 15th at 1:45.  Scripts should be kept in their homework binders so we can use them at school too.

Monday (Day ):
No School - Memorial Day

Tuesday (Day 2):
Read for 15 minutes (Book Group Reading)
Math -  Sheet 5-4
S.S. - Review Midwest states and capitals Sheet - quiz tomorrow

Wednesday (Day 3):
Read for 15 minutes
Math - Sheet 5-5

Thursday (Day 4):
Read for 15 minutes
Math - Review Addition of Fraction Sheet
Bring sunglasses if you have them for the Volunteer Song

Friday (Day 5):
Read for 30 minutes

We are finishing book groups this week (few groups finished last week).  Students have a calendar showing the days their group is meeting.  Students need to have the reading and notes ready for meeting dates.

PTO Reminder: "Screenagers: Growing Up in the Digital Age"


COMMUNITY MOVIE SCREENING - MAY 24 Screenagers: Growing Up in the Digital Age”: The SMS PTO & the Wiggin Memorial Library are excited to offer this important community movie screening on May 24 @ 6:30pm in the CMS Auditorium. We encourage all parents to attend and to bring their children ages 10 and older. A panel discussion with school staff from across SAU16, psychologist Ben Hillyard & Officer Amanda Bibeau will follow.

Tomato Plant Experiment:  Students need to graph the height of their plants each day and some days will have longer observations.  They will be marked in their assignment books.
