US Geography Play

4B and 4T have started practicing our US Geography play.  The kids are very excited and learned yesterday which part they have.  The songs are sounding great and we are starting to learn our lines. I have had the students put their scripts in their homework binders, so they can practice them at home too.  The scripts should be put back in their binders so they can have them to use at school.

The play will be performed on June 12 at 1:40 in the cafeteria for 3rd - 5th graders and families.  We hope you can make it.

Tomato Plant Project

I hope all the tomato plants made it home and the experiment has been set up by changing the variable listed on your plan for your experimental plant.

Students should be filling in their height graph daily when they water and turn their plant.

Students who are drawing pictures for their longer observations must observe on three days in addition to the first one we did in class. They should do these observations on May 14, 18, and 22.  Students who are taking photographs of their plants must do four in addition to the first one we did in class.  They should do these observations on May 13, 16, 19, 22.  The date on the rubric had to be adjusted because the plants came a little earlier for our first observation.

We talked in class on Friday about what makes a quality observation.  They should have 3-4 details under each section with colored, detailed pictures of each of their plants.

I hope everyone has fun taking care of their plants.  Hopefully you will all have yummy tomatoes to eat during the summer.
