Ways to Practice Math Facts

We are moving on to more of our math units where students need to know their math facts well, so they can focus on the new concepts.  Multiplication and division facts are the facts many of the students need to practice the most.  Students can go on xtramath as often as they would like and flashcards can be helpful.

Here are a few other ways for the students to practice their math facts:

Freerice is a website where the U.N. will donate 10 grains of rice for every correct problem.  It's a great way for kids to practice their facts while helping others in need.

Quick Math is a great app for practicing math facts.  The students use their finger to write the answers on the screen.  There is also a Quick Math Pack which includes 4 of their app.

Math Duel - Students can practice all the operations and play by themselves or against someone. Their opponent can be doing a different operation, so it is great if they have a sibling in a younger grade.

I hope these help if you are looking for some ways for your child to practice their math facts.  Please have your child share with me any great game, websites, or apps they have enjoyed for practicing math facts.

Math Fact Apps

We used the app Sakura Quick Math on the ipads this week during our math workshop.  It is a great app for practicing math facts.

The following apps have also been recommended to me for practicing math facts.  We will be using them next week during our math workshop.

I hope these help if you are looking for some ways for your child to practice their math facts.   Some of the kids said they wanted to try the apps out at home.  Now that we are doing long multiplication the students are realizing how helpful it is to know their math facts, so they can focus on learning the new process.
