Tracking Hurricanes

4B has started tracking the Atlantic hurricanes of 2013.  Students learned last week about longitude and latitude.  It has been a slow start for hurricanes this year, but we had our first tropical storm to track on Monday.  Each student has a tracking map and we will be looking at NOAA's website to get the coordinates of the storms locations each day.   I was excited today to hear the kids talking about how Tropical Storm Humberto had turned into a hurricane when they walked into class today.  I forgot to take pictures of the kids plotting the points, so I will have to get some later in the week.

What a great group of kids!!!!

Students have all had a chance to test out the Promethean Board in our classroom.

 We decorated writing notebooks.

Thank you all for making our first five days great!

New Students Coming Soon!

It is hard to believe in one week my new class will be coming back to school.  I am looking forward to meeting all of them and I can't wait to hear about what they have done this summer.

I will be working in our classroom on Thursday from 1:30 to 2:30 if any of my new students would like to visit.  I hope you are enjoying your last week of summer break.  See you soon!
