Research Book Groups

We have started another round of book groups this week.  This time the book groups will focus on researching a topic they are interested in.  Students chose two other people to be part of their group.  Then they brainstormed possible topics they would be interested in researching.  Some of the topics groups decided to research are dinosaurs, robots, cats, endangered animals from Florida, and more.  The students have all been so excited to get started which has made me very excited for this unit.  They will each be researching their topic individually and focusing on three questions their group created.  The students will meet with their group members a few times a week to share information they have learned.

I have encouraged students to look at home or at the Wiggin Memorial Library to find books, magazines, or online information on their topic.  We will look at school too, but we do not have all the topics in our classroom library.  Please write your child's name in any books they bring in from home.
